We worked with agency Proof Experiences to turn hundreds of custom cut blocks of ice into a glowing concert venue and drift track on a frozen lake in Manitoba.
Everyone knows that heat melts ice, but most aren't aware that electronics don't work properly in extreme cold. With the subzero temperatures in Manitoba, we needed to use heaters to keep the lights (and audio) on inside the Ice Garage without exposing the blocks of ice to excess heat. Any additional heat would make the carefully sourced ice cloudy, diminishing the effect of the installation. We placed heaters in strategic locations with nearby objects redirecting the heat away from the structure and toward guests and critical electronic systems.
This was an event truly designed for the social media age. One hundred lucky influencers rocked out inside the ice-cold dealership to the music of Arkells as fans watched online and 500 HP luxury Mercedes-Benz AMGs rumbled around on the ice track outside.
